Katz Nassau started an annuity division in , KNA West, partnering with Ray Malone, a seasoned annuity wholesaler. In 2017 we merged with W. S. Vogel. By acquiring the oldest General Brokerage in the life insurance industry, our heritage now dates to 1928. We are proud to continue the legacy of our predecessors, assisting advisors from “submission to commission” enhancing both their own and their clients’ experience. Joe is on the Board of Directors of Subcenters, the Society of Underwriting Brokers. Subcenters is the oldest study group in the life insurance industry. It is a group of 25 geographically diverse brokerage general agencies from across the United States. Subcenters meets multiple times annually to exchange information on industry trends, carrier initiatives, and marketing ideas, to help us expand and improve our business industry to better serve our advisor partners.

Downstate’s focus is predominantly in the property and casualty space, and its membership includes the PIA, Tri-County brokers part of Big I, Suffolk county brokers, CIBGNY (Council of Insurance Brokers of Greater New York), IPALI, QCIP, CPCU, and IBANY.
